“Lean Manufacturing: Maximizing Value and Eliminating Waste” will be the topic of a free program presented Jan. 27 by Geauga Growth Partnership.

The event takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Newbury Business Park Executive Center at 12373 Kinsman Road in Newbury Township. Reservations are required.

Ty Haines, who has more than 30 years of experience as a leader in manufacturing, will present a quick review of lean basics, then the Eight Keys to Lean Success in the workplace to help businesses look at the best ways to lower operational costs, increase throughput, improve their operations and sustain the lean processes.

Haines is president of Manufacturer Solutions LLC.

As a bonus feature of the program, Mark Proud of The Proud Co. will be introducing the audience to collaborative robotics.

Proud will show all attendees how a collaborative robot can easily automate many repetitive, mundane tasks that are common in manufacturing plants. Attendees are encouraged to bring sample parts and stay afterward for “hands on” time with the robot.
