Lean manufacturing awareness prog held

Kanpur: National Productivity Council (NPC), Kanpur in association with Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Park (STEP) organised an awareness programme on ‘Lean manufacturing’ at HBTI campus here on Saturday.
Lean manufacturing is a component of national manufacturing competitiveness programme of Union ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME). The scheme is being implemented across the country through NPC and Quality Council of India (QCI), the autonomous bodies under the department of industrial policy and promotion.
Chandrashekhar Azad Jayanti: Under the aegis of Kanpur university student union, birth anniversary of freedom fighter Chandrashekhar Azad was celebrated at CSJM university gate, on Saturday. Chief guest educationist Narendra Dwivedi paid floral tributes to Azad.
User charges realised in anti-encroachment drive: The district administration and Kanpur Municipal Corporation collected Rs 1,16,800 as user charges and demolished temporary and permanent structures during anti-encroachment drive in the city.
