Lean Manufacturing Experts Top List of Panelists for the NECPA 2016 Annual Meeting and Expo

The North East Canvas Products Association (NECPA), a trade association dedicated to the growth and improvement of the canvas and outdoor fabric industry, is pleased to announce that it is bringing leading experts in Lean Manufacturing to speak at its 2016 Annual Meeting & Expo. As part of its mission to develop the professional skills of its members and foster greater efficiency and economy in the awning and marine industries, NECPA is dedicating a large portion of its annual conference track to topics focused on eliminating waste and increasing productivity and profitability.
“Our board members have put together a fantastic educational experience for each day of this year’s event, but I’m especially excited for our Friday morning sessions,” says NECPA Vice President, Cheryl Yennaco. “Everyone, regardless of industry or job title, can benefit by attending this year’s show.”
The NECPA Annual Meeting and Expo is the largest expo event in the north east serving the awning and canvas products industry. In addition to the interactive Expo and networking events, the Annual Meeting is widely respected for its robust seminar track which focuses on the latest techniques and best industry practices. This is the 20th year of the annual event, and the NECPA has partnered with Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI), the Professional Awnings Manufacturers Association (PAMA) and the Marine Fabricators Association (MFA) to bring together a panel of leading experts in Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen Improvement Training for the Friday morning conference sessions.
“As the market continues to become more competitive, it’s vital that we look for new ways to eliminate waste and increase productivity,” continues Yennaco. “Improving flows on the shop floor has been a hot topic of discussion amongst our members, something that these sessions will surely address.”
In addition to the above, veteran awning industry professionals, Andrew Morse of Ohio Awning and Greg Schmeiler of Laurel Awning Company, will share their experiences in implementing Lean Manufacturing Systems in their operations as well as lead an interactive question and answer session with conference attendees.
